shakti movie review: total crap!
two movies back 2 ʞɔɐq
two days, two movies. not a big deal but happens quite rarely with me when i am in hyderabad. my vacation lasts only three days this time as i am leaving tomorrow. but i have already made the most of this trip. i watched mirapakai yesterday and anaganaga o dheerudu today.
both of them are good though i liked mirapakai more as for its comedy. there are no many comedians in the movie but still the flick turned out to be a great comedy entertainer. the comedy comprises mostly of punching dialogs by ravi teja. there wasn’t much of a story but you don’t really feel that. comparatively, the other heroin in the second half did good (don’t remember her name!). music composed by thaman was nice.
AOD was great with its terrific cg work. the makers pulled off the movie very well. siddharth, shruthi and lakshmi manchu did their part really nice. the nerve of the movie, i guess was lakshmi’s performance. she did great. the costumes and fights seem to be inspired from the game, prince of persia. what made the movie really interesting was the fact that all of the graphics were done in india and that too in hyderabad alone, isn’t that awesome!
Tees Maar Khan movie review
10 seconds into the movie and i already started loving it. 1 hour into the movie, i find myself waiting for the next half to start! the second half wasn’t so long either but that adds up with tits and wits of the most wanted fugitive Tees Maar Khan and pretty much every thing else in the movie. akshay khanna also did a great job that kept the audience rolling. farah gives the climax an oscar touch like that of the film premier in om shanti om. i liked this one. and the heat of sheela ki jawani was just enough to fight this coldest winter of hyderabad since 1946! i don’t remember anything else about sheela as i din’t see her much after that.
using less words, TMK is a great flick. good way to spend Christmas. you’ll love it if u r looking for comedy. go for it and of course… beware of the Tees Maar Khans around you!!
brindavanam review: wanted to hate, but loved it
i din’t count how many flies flew inside-out my mouth watching samantha in the first song (such was the theater!). gosh, she was looking smoking hot. one could give her a perfect 10 for what she was. then i din’t see her for a very long time after that but the movie adds up for that loss. it had a good story line and it worked perfectly. kajal was good both in looks and performance. prakash raj and sri hari did great. comedy in second half was nice particularly after brahmanandam enters. the movie brindavanam is definitely a full fledged entertainer. i am not a fan of jr ntr but i should admit that the movie is really good and is certainly the best that came in recent times.
we went to the cafe’ coffee day on the banglore highway after the movie. the place was great but not so was the coffee! i liked it only after emptying five sachets of sugar in my cup. i liked the tag line of the brand, “anything can happen over coffee”. now i don’t know what they mean by that but something really did happen. we fell short of cash for the bill and the cards won’t work! then what?, i had to wait there as my friend went all the way back to chittor to draw some cash from the atm. started back to vellore at 1 am in the chilling wind and made to college at around 2:30 am. great night!!!
khaleja review: i am feeling like god!
robo review: technically good; logically stupid
though after giving a tough fight for robo‘s first day’s tickets, i could only settled for the second day’s matinee. the talk about the movie on first day here was very confusing! some said its just average while many said it was fantastic. if what many said was right, the ratings of the movie should be more than just 3½. so i thought, to get a clear picture, i had to do draw it myself!
i feel the movie is a huge success in technical terms. it had high technical values that shankar carved out perfectly. still, the movie missed something. when i tried to compare it with some movies like i-robo and stealth, i found that though it fits in perfectly with them technically, it doesn’t really have a sound logic.
you see, when you make a fiction, you should have a strong base that supports that fiction. robo misses exactly that. the movie is supposed to be a science fiction describing how a robot with feelings deals with everything but it has got something even more than that. every hero or even super hero has limitations and should. its looks good only that way. but rajani seems to be able to do just anything in the movie. that won’t make sense logically. the last half an hour was off the limits. i love physics and shankar broke many laws of physics in the movie. now, how do you expect me to like it?!
samsung galaxy review
i had my hands on the much talked samsung galaxy today as a guy in my class just bought it. i donno how true it is but i heard that it beat sales of iphone in the us. i never believed it… not until today. this phone matches iphone so much in looks that i thought it was an iphone from a distance. most of its interface is inspired from that of iphone but in a better way.
don’t get taken away by that… this phone certainly goes over iphone but has some features that puts it a step ahead of it. what blew my mind off was the live wallpaper that had a life like effect. the camera and video quality is amazing. its light weight and in great shape. what thirilled me was the way to unlock the screen which is by connecting dots. and the best part is, it costs only 27K, way cheaper than iphone.
google’s artwork
though google kinda disappointed me with its chrome, this little gif image hosted by google on its home page on 15th, august impressed the hell outta me. this pic reflect the traditions of india and just can’t be more awesome!
i reloaded the page like 10 times when i first saw this. are you counting yours…?
madrasa pattinam in vellore pattinam
well, vellore just got recognition as a city so there’s nothing wrong in terming it as vellore pattinam. coming back to the subject, i just saw madrasa pattinam a fantastic love story framed in 1940′s. its a tamil flick and i dont speak tamil but you know, love has no language (among few other things!). anyway it was not a problem b’coz most of the movie goes in english. all the program of going to the movie this evening popped from nowhere so we dint plan for dinner. the movie finished at 9:30 pm and so did our hostel in-time. hence we came back to college straight away. mess closed, no junk food and nowhere else to go… i am really hungry now (just leaving a note for time-travelers!!!).
speaking of the movie, that was something i would call a classic. it was a perfect mix of romance, suspense and drama. don’t think i am a racist but frankly, this is the only tamil movie i liked so far! the movie resembles the hindi flick lagaan but more centric with love story instead of cricket. it had a terrific screenplay which i haven’t seen from slumdog. the female lead was played by a new british face named amy jackson who did great. i will most certainly fell short of words describing the movie. madrasa pattimam has set its place firmly in the list of my favorite movies.
rajamouli keeps on impressing…
just watched maryada ramanna. that was something i was eagerly waiting for since months. which turns out to be a truly awesome flick. keeping a comedian actor in a lead role and pulling it off so handsomely is what only rajamouli can do. all this time i was wondering about how the story could run around a comedian and a bunch of serious villains but far to my expectations the movie comes out in an amazing way. to cut short my fuss and describe the movie in few lines, i would say it was a complete entertainer with comedy and action. watch it…
what happened after the movie was also interesting. 7 of us went to the second show of the movie and none of us had permission to come late that night (actually one of us did but i tore it off…come on, either everyone or no one!). 5 of them returned to their blocks in hostel after returning. me and one another were to go to the same block. since we had no permission we were scared to enter the block. but see what we find? the watchman was sleeping a little away keeping the door open! u can guess what happened next!!!

huawei modem unlocker
after a hell of a search, i found this great tool to unlock my idea net setter usb stick. in normal condition the modem works only with an idea sim card in it. but after its unlocked, you are free to use it with any sim card which has gprs activated. i myself use an aircel sim in the idea net setter i have. this tool can unlock any huawei device which is great b’coz many other products like photon, reliance net connect and mts blaze use only an huawei modem device.

vedam atlast
so after a week of its release i got to see allu arjun’s vedam. i am really happy about the reviews the movie is getting. after a bitter bite of varudu, this movie would really help all arjun fans. i find it to be a really good movie but frankly i would have avoided if i’ve already known about it!
you see, the whole movie centers around those aspects of our society that we are not proud of. the movie was too touchy for a lite-candidate like me. can you believe? i had to close my eyes in the climax just for not to be seen crying!!!
varudu sucks!!!
the reason i came here turns out to b worthless, thanks to gunashekar. from what i heard of the movie, i had very low expectation which wasn’t even upto that. i just cant believe allu arjun, who’s supposed to b very cautious in selecting movies, did this. i had quite a lecture from friends whom i dragged to the movie with me. there were only two things in my mind all the time, a headache and “bloody director, bloody gunashekar“. he snatched away the chance from me to say that allu arjun never had a flop, ever. though a lip-lock scene added some color and made me feel tollywood has taken its next level, everything else remains pale.
that leaves half of my last night at hyderabad ruined. i am leaving to vellore tomorrow evening. i havn’t done any of the work i have to submit in college on tuesday. maybe i’ll do it before tomorrow evening.
